Skyline Girls escape Lincoln, TC-Cedar Hill Boys edge Carter to win the 78th Annual Dallas ISD Invit


Here's a recap of the 78th Annual Dallas ISD Invitational.  Huge honor to able to come back to provide extensive coverage and exposure for present day student-athletes at a tournament where 20 years to date when my high school team won it all and i earned Tourney MVP honors (Carter 1997) Special thanks to Dallas ISD Athletics and Tournament director Dr. Silvia Salinas for organizing a quality tournament experience for participating teams, media, scouts, and fans. 750,000 organic unique viewers including scores of school alumni, college coaches and recruiters, pro scouts & execs, media outlets, & all-star game voters were exposed to quality teams, good coaches, and some talented players over the 3-day event. Isaiah Range Trinity Christian Cedar Hill  

The 6'4 Junior Guard averaged 17ppg during tourney play and was the most consistent player of anyone in the field this week. Big, strong, athletic guard with good scoring and planning ability. Dangerous when in attack mode in open court. Plays above the rim. Team captain, high character kid with grades. The 6'9 Junior averaged 19pts ,9reb, 7 blocks per game during tourney play in dominating fashion! Missed a triple double in the opening round vs Cedar Hill by 1 block,finishing with 26pts,11rebs,9 blocks. A dynamic finisher around the rim, runs the floor well, and with his 7'4 wingspan he's arguably the best rim protector in the country. High Major prospect. https://youtu.be/_oHU_uRE-24

Dominique Jackson Trinity Christian Cedar Hill

One of DFW's Top 2018 Prospects, Dominique Jackson of Trinity Christian is Next Level Ready! Was the difference maker for a good TCCH title squad. At 6'4 he excels at both guard spots, scores at all levels, good defender, and plays with a chip on his shoulder that coaches love! 20p in semifinal round and 18 points in the Championship. Top unsigned 2018 prospect in Texas. High character kid with grades. One of the state's top unsigned seniors whose stock continues to rise. A top Texas 2020 prospect and tournament top performer. https://youtu.be/MV1q_OhdhNo Malik Martin Lancaster The 6'3 senior guard was the Tourney MOP for Lancaster. Averaged 16ppg during tourney play including a 21pt 3rd Rd performance vs Duncanville and 21pt in the 3rd place Championship Game. Scored the ball whenever he wanted. When he's on his game the young Tigers are tough to deal with. Good unsigned senior prospect. Wade Taylor Lancaster The best Freshman in the field was Lancaster guard Wade Taylor. The 6'0 14y/o guard played well beyond his years against some high level competition yet again. After breakout performances against Oak Hill and South Garland, the 14- year old freshman had one of the most impressive runs by a freshman in Dallas ISD's 78 year tournament history. Averaging 18ppg on the season and 15ppg during tourney play including 19 vs Duncanville. Scores at a high level, can make plays for teammates, and has a high basketball IQ. Academic All-American candidate also. Solid rebounder.   Reshoid Lawton Dallas Wilmer-Hutchins The 6'4 Junior Guard averaged 17ppg for Wilmer-Hutchins during tourney play including a game high 20pts in the semifinal round vs Carter. A High level shotmaker with a smooth shooting stroke who can fill it up quickly. All Tourney Team Performer. Davian Sanders Dallas Wilmer-Hutchins The 5'10 Junior Guard was one of the best true pgs in the field this week. Averaged 9pts, 6ast per game including 10 dimes in the 3rd place Championship Game vs Lancaster. Floor General who has the handle and quickness to get anywhere he wants on the floor. Creates wide open looks for his shooters and post players. Zeke Mumford Dallas Carter The 6'4 Junior Guard averaged double figures in scoring during tourney play and came thru big for Carter in their dramatic semifinal victory over Hutch with 20 points and key plays in the clutch.

Dante Stearns Dallas Carter The 6-6 Senior forward averaged double figures in scoring during tourney play and had big moments for the Cowboys including the GW FG vs Hutch in the semifinal round and 15 points vs Trinity Christian in the Championship. All-tournament Team Performer Daylon Tanksley FW OD Wyatt The 6'6 Senior G/F averaged 16ppg,6rpg including a game high 23pts,6 Rebs vs Lancaster in the 2nd rd. A versatile guard with good size and quickness. Poses matchup problems for opposing teams due to his size and versatility. Defends multiple positions. Very coachable kid.
